the more drop you add the more the car sways left to right looks good but spoils the ride

Without some kind of rear track rod it'll handle like a Labrador on linoleum. My 41 did. Not that I was doing any fancy driving, but a gusty crosswind could get very sporty.
Too much sideways movement from long shackles and you will scrub into the sidewall on the rear tyres when cornering. Don't ask. Eventually I reversed the eyes and de-arched the springs. Guess I just had to learn he hard way. Nice spring spreader BTW. |

My new to me 37 coupe came with the super long shackles on the front causing the axle to be right down on the bump stops. Not good.
I ended up building a spring spreader to remove them. I cut off two inches and made new (square) holes. Would have been worth it to buy new but I didn’t know the holes were square before I started. Typical for me - a half day project turns in to a two day project. |
