Hello, I have a 1950 F3 flathead V8. Just had the motor rebuilt, now I have fuel pump issues. The fuel pump won’t last long. Does anyone have any suggestions on this manner? Any help would be greatful.

Is your fuel pump a mechanical or electrical.?
Push rod problem if mechanical fuel pump. try fitting a pressure gauge at discharge to carb, you are looking at around 2 psi ideal. Phil NZ |

Mechanical pump the rubber diaphragm deteriorates and cracks over time. I rebuilt the one on my '38 and the rubber was just starting to show multiple crack stress marks, caught it before it went. If rebuilding, use the original stock spring if still in good condition as the new ones in the rebuild kits are bigger and stronger. They will build to much pressure and cause a leaky carb.
