Good idea. Bugs me too when I see those. But if I decide to upgrade my old heaters I think I'll go with the direct replacements (BA15S base LEDs) behind the glass lens though.

I asked our local A dealer about led tail lights and he suggested I use a pulsating red light just like cyclists use. I thought that was a good idea.

Consider getting two, if one runs out of juice you still have one that works. Recommended is getting ones with replaceable batteries, or spending a little more with rechargeable batteries that can be charged with a computer USB port.
Or just by the cheapest ones you can find, replace them as needed and throw the discharged one away. |

Some of those bike tail lights are very directional. That is they are almost like a laser beam.
Aimed at the following driver they are quite annoying even when not flashing. The ones we use, I think, came from Katmandu (an outdoors shop here). The battery lasts for yonks. I lent mine to a guy with a disability scooter and never got it back, so it must have worked. |
