I recently drug this home over the weekend. It is from north western Oklahoma. She still has nearly everything in tact. Looks to be original with some sort of repaint many years ago. The chassis is in outstanding condition as is the sheet metal with only a few spots of minor rust. The driveline is still in tact. It was just to nice to pass up. I will be doing some research to find a bit more about it as soon as time permits. Right now I just had to unload it and give it a new home.

Plans include to keep this one original with just a few modern upgrades like 12volt system. Plans are to go through everything and rebuild. Currently have another 40 pickup in build so this one will have to wait its turn but I plan on giving it a bit of attention when time permits. |

I'm originally from southwestern Kansas so I know the climate. It stays pretty dry there for the most part. If a person keeps there stuff in a garage or at least covered, corrosion will remain minimal. Farm folks were generally kind of hard on their pickups & trucks in the region but they don't rust very much. That one looks like it had an easier life than a lot of them did.

None that I can speak from experience about. There used to be some good ones but they seem to have died off or retired. I was told of a place on the north west side called Miller's Automotive Machine Shop but I haven't taken anything to them yet.

If you are not a member of the Early Ford V-8 Club you might want to join. The V-8 Times magazine is worth the price of admission. Lots of great flathead info and resources for parts. The roster of members will help you find other members in your area and they may have info on engine rebuilders, etc. Here's the website; www.earlyfordv8.org.
