I ordered a set of piston for my flat head not paying much to it I did not look to make I had the right stroke to day I was going over every thing and I ordered 4.125 instead of 4.250 hoping the guy will take them back
does anybody has a part number for ross piston with a 4.250 stroke and a bore 3.125 or 3.375 |

If it is NOT a listed "stocking" number then it would be 100% special-order deal? In other words a "custom" piston. They have the 3.375" bore for the 3.750", 4.000" and 4.125" strokes. There is a stocking part number (80576) for the 3.312" bore x 4.250" stroke. These are the ones we supply with our own kits. I'm assuming this is the size meant above (3.125") in your post? (Add) Got your P.M. also! Thanks, Gary in N.Y. P.S. Good luck exchanging them (for the 3.375"), not sure how that would work with the vendor that made the sale??

Do you already have the crankshaft? If not, just go with a 4 1/8 stroker . . . you'll still have plenty of fun!
![]() Also, I'd much rather use a 3 5/16 bore piston anyway - don't go all the way to 3 3/8, just no need for it. If you order custom pistons from Ross, they'll be quite a bit more money than the stocking ones. Hopefully they have a piston that will work for you - also, if they have the 1.5, 1.5, 3.0 metric rings as an option, definitely go that route. |

31, try and make sure you are quoting the numbers right, you seem to be getting your 3s and 4s mixed up when talking about bores and strokes.
Cracks between a head bolt hole and the water passages are very common. They are not normally a job stopper and most engines running today have cracks there. Don't disregard a block if that is all that is wrong. Mart |
