Tried to install the oil pan today on the 37 221. It has the shorter late pump and pickup that came with the unassembled engine. The pickup interferes with the baffle. The baffle edge sits down on the the pickup screen and won't go past it. Is this a mismatch or am I missing something?

A minor anglegrinder adjustment later it fits just fine !
The baffle and the newer style pump/pickup was never ment to fit togetter. |

Yea, that little cup has to be removed, It's easier than it looks, prick punch the middle of the 4 spot wells, take a 1/4in. drill and just drill the top off the weld, the cup will dap right off, then I grind the weld flush, if you think it's a little thin at them 4 spots just put a little brass on those spots.
