i have a 51 mercury & i need to install new window fuzzies on the door windows. the orignals are stapled. is there any way i can install them? has any one here done this.

Yes, on the outer trim stainless I have held the fuzzy in place with spring clamps and drilled new sets of holes. Then formed out of .030 s.s. safety wire, new '[[' shaped clips for each location.
The garnish molding side was done the same way except I used 3/32" dia. 'pop' rivets. There is another alternative which I have heard of and that is to glue them in place using urethane cement like what is used to install windows.

I have used 3M superstrength adhesive with lasting results,remove rivets and sand and clean area and use small clamps until dry

Aircraft Spruce has the 3/32 rivets for nut plates that are very small and different lengths are available too. They can be installed with a pop riveter as long as it has a pulling head that works with the small stems. The rivets are available in pan head and flush head styles and are not too expensive. |
