Not sure how to mount my rear licence plate on 32 highboy. I put 48 Ford tail lights in the back panel and am pretty happy with them. Does anybody make something cool for the plate that mounts to the spreader bar.

They make mounts for the front but I am not sure of the back. My avatar has it in/on the back panel.

They used to make some billet aluminum brackets that clamped to the spreader bar to mount the plate. Check places like Yogi's or Brizio Street Rods as they build a lot of '32 hotrods.

Basically a non-stock part, as the original license plate mounted to the RH taillight. So to parody a previous thread, the stock answer to a non stock question is to "go to hamb", but let not go there this time.
An easy way to mount the license plate on top of the spreader would be to use a front license bracket. There are, or have been, several brackets produced... you would have to check all the billet and other street rod manufacturers catalogs. On my roadster I could not find anything that I liked the looks of (I wanted the license plate centered to the spreader), so I fabricated one using muffler clamps. It works well and I like the look. Have fun |

For the front I used stainless steel clamps designed for air hoses on a pogo stick on a truck.
My rears are not as fancy, I used plumbers tape ![]() |

On a vintage style deuce highboy nothing looks better than a Hollywood style license light and bracket mounted on the end panel between the taillights. There's one for sale on the HAMB for 20.00.

I mounted my rear plate on the back panel between a pair of 39 blue dots. The bracket has the license plate light built in.
Very traditional look and it keeps all the wiring inside the trunk.

Take a look at the stainless hangers used for lake pipes. Speedway has them and they might be just what you need.

Just go to the HAMB and click on parts and scroll down and you'll see it, he actually has 2 listed.

Yes it is. After I posted this I realized this photo was taken before I put the light on. I now have a license plate light that mounts above the tag. I don't have a photo of it.

My rear plate is temp mounted, plan on putting one of those Hollywood light/ plate mounts on mine as well. As soon as I get a round tuit.
I put 42 Oldsmobile lights on my back panel, plate will go between. |
