Default Brake adjustment

Optimum clevis arm angle .While Adjusting a Model A brakes I noticed the clevis arm was pre-set at 10 degrease forward ,setting it at another 15 deg would give you a better starting point .Just something to be aware of , the king pin push rod has a groove in it from I think a re popped king pin with the hole to small.

Or the groove could have been formed at the bottom when the wedge got "crooked" and pulled the rod over to the side. A bound shoe on one side can cause this.

This guy have "floaters?"

I make my own pushrods out of 5/16" round rod About 3/16" to 1/4" longer than the stock rods.

That true, but maybe this one didn't have them yet?

And a lateral movement of the wedge (that IS what floaters allow isn't it?) might lead the pin to wear on the edge where it passes through the backing plate.
