Brake adjustment 3 Attachment(s)
Optimum clevis arm angle .While Adjusting a Model A brakes I noticed the clevis arm was pre-set at 10 degrease forward ,setting it at another 15 deg would give you a better starting point .Just something to be aware of , the king pin push rod has a groove in it from I think a re popped king pin with the hole to small.

Re: Brake adjustment Or the groove could have been formed at the bottom when the wedge got "crooked" and pulled the rod over to the side. A bound shoe on one side can cause this.
This guy have "floaters?" Joe K |
Re: Brake adjustment I make my own pushrods out of 5/16" round rod About 3/16" to 1/4" longer than the stock rods.

And a lateral movement of the wedge (that IS what floaters allow isn't it?) might lead the pin to wear on the edge where it passes through the backing plate. Joe K |
