Question, I have a 28/29 frame that has holes cut for both right and left steering box. I can not see any # on frame. Was this frame common Rt & Lt. set up or was it made only for a short time? Thank you for your help.

28/29 frames are drilled/punched for LHD and RHD . 30/31 frames are set up only for RHD in England . . In USA 30/31 are set up for LHD only. The variation seems to follow what front crossmenber is installed for low rad 28/29 or high rad 30/31 . Some English and also Canadian frames were not serial numbers stamped .

Check my frame article out on my website for which I did for The Restorer.
It is under the FRAME icon. For your frame number...go to Additional Studies...then go to Letters, Numbers, and Codes for more information. Pluck |
