28/29 Frame right hand steering

Question, I have a 28/29 frame that has holes cut for both right and left steering box. I can not see any # on frame. Was this frame common Rt & Lt. set up or was it made only for a short time? Thank you for your help.

28/29 frames are drilled/punched for LHD and RHD . 30/31 frames are set up only for RHD in England . . In USA 30/31 are set up for LHD only. The variation seems to follow what front crossmenber is installed for low rad 28/29 or high rad 30/31 . Some English and also Canadian frames were not serial numbers stamped .

Check my frame article out on my website for which I did for The Restorer.

It is under the FRAME icon.

For your frame number...go to Additional Studies...then go to Letters, Numbers, and Codes for more information.

To add to this, the earliest 28 frames did not have the steering holes on the right side. I believe they were added sometime in Dec. 27 or Jan. 28. For whatever that's worth...
