Thumbs up Lower a arm spacer bolt size

Anyone know what size bolts replace the rivets on a '49 Custom? I'm putting Aerostar springs on and taking the shock out, I broke one of the lower shock plate bolts. Heat and vice grips were no good. Now the arms coming off so I can drill the broken piece in the drill press instead of crouched under the car. Figure I may as well get rid of the rivets while I have easy access to do it. That way if I decide to do spacers or need to remove the coil again down the road I'm one step ahead

If you are talking about the (2) shock mount bolts, they are not rivets but 5/16" carriage bolts that are tacked or swaged into a square hole.

The rivets that hold the spring plate onto the lower control arm are what I'm talking about. When people put in those spacer blocks to lower the front end without cutting or changing the coils, what size bolts fit the holes where the rivets once were? The broken shock mount bolt is what started this whole thing

Are you unable to measure the holes?

Remove the rivets and measure the hole. That way you will only make one trip to the hardware store.

I was on my way to the hardware store store (30 min. each way) for something else before I pulled the a arm off the car. The plan was to pick the bolts up while I was there. Oh well
