Source for '32 Frame blueprint

I know American Stamping Co. sells a blueprint for the '32 frame. Does anyone know of another source of this document?

If you want the real thing, try the Benson Ford Research Center in Dearborn. From what I have seen of the aftermarket drawings, none are complete nor completely accurate.

Thank you, David. Yes, I want the real thing. I've heard the Wescott drawings are off.

I know this will be frowned upon, but we are building a AV8; using a '32 frame. All cross members are original Ford and some tricks thrown in. '26/'27 T rear x member & spring to lower it approx. 2" and a Model A which gets the front down too.

I want to be exact in the measurements and not "close".

Don't know anything about the Benson drawings, but I have 3 wall-sized 'blueprints' from 3 different sources and they are each different.

I was at Wescotts several years ago when I was deciding on weather to get a Brookfield or a Wescott. They had an original frame in really good shape. It had never been messed with and they said that it matched another that they had. They took the drawings off of it.

I opted for a Brookville.

The Benson Ford Research Center is the home of Ford Motor Company's Archives which means that the drawings that they have are the originals which served as the basis for manufacturing the frames in 1932, not something draw up years later by a third party off a surviving frame.

My brother's '32 front cross member was toast and it was easier to find a Model A to replace it with. Turned out to be a can of worms trimming it down to fit the tapered '32 frame and then, the '32 rails are deeper than the A's and there was little room for spring movement at the side rails.

Dave sent me here last month for some woody blueprints. The information is available on the internet, they have specific hours, call in advance to obtain suggestions on how to visit.
They have a microfich machine, hard to get good copys, a light board which is better and I used a camera to take photos using that. Take multiple photos in case of any problems.
The staff is EXCELLENT!!! and very helpful

Obtain the frame parts number off various FORD parts books as drawings are numbered by this method.

Cost for them to do the job is $30/copy, free if you are there and do it.

Yeah, it's not a direct fit for sure, but worth it IMHO. Plus, the '32 X member looks a little clunky compared to the Model A; especially when not running fenders.

Not sure if you saw this over on the HAMB, but it is a super slick set-up. You need to sacrifice a Model A rear X member to do it, but looks killer and factory.

The one I have hanging on my garage wall was printed by Dan Woods, Contemporary Carriage Works. Very detailed, about 3'x4', you might be able to source one. If you can't locate one, perhaps Staples can copy it.

One assumes a certain amount of risk when selling other people's intellectual property. I would not want to try and make the case that engineering drawings are in the public domain, unlike sales literature which is (in the public domain)

Guess I'm going to issue a recall. I've built countless 100's of deuce chassis over the last 35 years using the Wescott drawing for basic measurements? Whenever I'm in doubt I refer to an original chassis I have stored away.

With respect, please look before you leap. I was referring to the Ford Motor Company blue prints being sold according to HOTRODPRIMER, not Karl's. In any event, the sin is not using the prints for reference purposes, but rather in selling them for profit (the prints themselves, not the product of referring to them).
