Default Oil return in pan

Hey guys, Im pretty sure this is for the oil return from the canaster to the pan,
Im pretty sure the zert screwed in to it was just to plug it.
But, is this the oil return to the pan from the canaster location ?
Its got a very small little slot on the bottom side, dont seam like much oil would come through it.

We need a picture!

From what you're describing, it is the oil return line from a "drip-feed" original Fram type setup. There is a little 'slot' on the bottom where the oil comes out.

Yep, that's a 1941 pan.

It's surprising how much hot oil comes out of a slot like that, even with the proper restrictor in the filter feed line.
