Default 1934 Ford Cabriolet, European body.

Came across this for sale on PreWarCar . It,s in Hungary. Have a look at the photo of the engine bay. What would be the purpose of the two adjustable fittings Left & Right side that i have arrowed in green ? Tighten up a sloppy body maybe ??? Or just standard practice as the cowl and screen have no upper support. Actually it looks like a good idea. Guess i answered my own question.
