Default Another question about radiators

Is the over flow tube supposed to point towards the front or point towards the rear of the vehicle mine points to the front i don't have a problem but a club member does and his points to the rear. His car doesn't over heat it pushes water out going uphill. I was just curious I told him about the nail trick. Maybe that will help.
The one in the picture is mine.

Originally they pointed to the front, then Ford put out a bulletin to bend them back towards the rear to help stop loss of coolant. I left mine pointing to the front. I'd rather slip a short piece of hose over the tube than bend it rearward, if I was having coolant loss. The coolant only needs to cover the tops of the radiator tubes. If enough tubes are plugged then the coolant will fill the top tank and go out the overflow tube no matter which way it points.

Thanks that answers my question!!
But that's funny mine faces the front. And no water loss. His faces to the back like ford wanted it and he's losing water. Only uphill. So I bet yeah he has partially plugged radiator

Or a leaking head gasket. He might try torquing the head bolts.

The most common cause of water loss/overheating, is rust flakes in the top of radiator tubes. Backflush them once or twice a year.
The block/head are like flake FACTORIES!
