Default model a dash rail

I thought model A's were supposed to be fairly straight-forward and relatively easy to work on...wrong.I needed a dash rail for a 1930 model A coupe.I had two 28-29 dash rails..didn't work,so i bought a 30-31.If I line up the center hole, none of the other factory holes line up and there is at least a 3/4 inch gap at both ends. Are there different dash rails for the 30-31 cars? or is coupe and sedan different?
