model a dash rail I thought model A's were supposed to be fairly straight-forward and relatively easy to work on...wrong.I needed a dash rail for a 1930 model A coupe.I had two 28-29 dash rails..didn't work,so i bought a 30-31.If I line up the center hole, none of the other factory holes line up and there is at least a 3/4 inch gap at both ends. Are there different dash rails for the 30-31 cars? or is coupe and sedan different?

Re: model a dash rail Is it a repro or an original? Repro's don't fit.

Re: model a dash rail The 1930-31 Coupe shares a dash rail with the Tudor and the closed cab Pickup. The open cars have a different rail. Fordor and Cabriolet share a different dash rail. Are you confused yet?

Re: model a dash rail Also a Slant Windshield dash rail is different than a straight windshield car....

Re: model a dash rail the coupe is original,as is the dash rail.the mounting holes on the coupe is 10 1/2 inches apart between the first set of holes and 8 1/2 inches apart to the center hole.the dash rail i got measures 9 1/2 inches between the first set of holes and 9 3/8 to the center hole.nothing has been modified, just two different sets of measurements.i can't believe ford would make two or three different dash rails that close in size.

Re: model a dash rail what you have is a 1931 slant window dash rail

Re: model a dash rail I have a very nice original dash rail out of a '30 Tudor, which would be the same as used in a '30 Coupe. I am restoring the Tudor and some how wound up with two of them. I will sell the extra one I have. If interested, send me a PM and I will take some pictures and send them to you along with a price.
