My rod I'm working on is getting an old dirt track race car steering box which has the same throw as the original box so you just need to extend the drag link.

Good afternoon. I am not sure many of us here will have the cool answer for you however I know you want to get the right one. Is it possible this would be better asked over on HAMB which caters more to the type vehicle you are building? Good luck in whichever gear box you decide to go with!!

The only difference in a F100 and a F-1 is year. F-1 is to 52 and F100 is after 52. Same truck. Lots of people use the F100 box in Model A's. You just need to find someone who modifies them for that application. Someone here can provide that info.

F-1 box fits the Av8 better than the F100 because the worm & shaft comes out under the sector rather than the top clearing the engine easier. The column angle is steeper , but you get used to it. Either one should have the mounting flange modified to fit the frame.

You can not use a stock box with out modifying the frame.
