I have a 1930 Town Sedan. I need to remove the front seat frame to get some repairs done on the upholstery. I can't find out how it is fastened to the floor. Any suggestions? Thanks, Ken

Have you removed the bottom cushion? You should be able to see all the hardware with the cushion out.
I think there is 4 bolts on each side to attach it to the seat rails. Been a long time... way back I moved my seat 3" rearward to give my long legs more room. Last edited by Y-Blockhead; 08-04-2025 at 07:11 PM. |

1929 Murray Town Sedan front seat carriage, but it should be the same for a Briggs Town Sedan/Fordor.

Ken B - Just TODAY I removed exactly what you are wanting to do and had the back rest JUST in front of the REAR Cushion. As Y-Block wrote "THERE ARE FOUR BOLTS" holding the wood to the rails AFTER REMOVING SEAT CUSHION !
Doing that will give you access to taking, I believe it is called THE BUCKET, BUT not positive, which has the back rest in it ! OH! my car TESSIE, pictured in the Avatar, is a 1930 Fordor DeLuxe BLINDBACK for the record!
