1930 Town Sedan Seat Removal I have a 1930 Town Sedan. I need to remove the front seat frame to get some repairs done on the upholstery. I can't find out how it is fastened to the floor. Any suggestions? Thanks, Ken

Re: 1930 Town Sedan Seat Removal Have you removed the bottom cushion? You should be able to see all the hardware with the cushion out.
I think there is 4 bolts on each side to attach it to the seat rails. Been a long time... way back I moved my seat 3" rearward to give my long legs more room. |

1929 Murray Town Sedan front seat carriage, but it should be the same for a Briggs Town Sedan/Fordor.

Re: 1930 Town Sedan Seat Removal Ken B - Just TODAY I removed exactly what you are wanting to do and had the back rest JUST in front of the REAR Cushion. As Y-Block wrote "THERE ARE FOUR BOLTS" holding the wood to the rails AFTER REMOVING SEAT CUSHION !
Doing that will give you access to taking, I believe it is called THE BUCKET, BUT not positive, which has the back rest in it ! OH! my car TESSIE, pictured in the Avatar, is a 1930 Fordor DeLuxe BLINDBACK for the record! |

Yes, I removed the seat cushion. I don't see the four bolts in the pictures. I will try to take some pictures of my own and post them soon. Thanks!!!! |
Re: 1930 Town Sedan Seat Removal 5 Attachment(s)
I think I figured out how to remove the front seat frame. I see the bolts on either side but the back one isn't accessible. I adjusted the seat frame until it hit stops on either side. I would think if I remove the stops, that the seat frame would adjust all the way off. Would that be correct?
