I have my engine out and am trying to get the oil pan off. I have all bolts out, but an old wood chisel isn't working and hammering on an oak board on the pan edge the same. My next step is to use my engine stand to make it more stable and pound on it harder. I maybe used Hylomar on the gasket in 2020 and it worked too well.

Any suggestions to get the pan off? I'll recheck the pan bolts.

Double check to make sure that all the bolts are out.

20 pan bolts and the 3 for the sheetmetal cover on the flywheel housing and you should be good to remove

I have had good luck using acetone to dissolve Hylomar. Wipe some along the edges of the oil pan and let it sit for a day.

Stiff bladed putty knife sharpened up on the bench grinder. Use a hammer to tap it in between the pan and block to cut the bond.

Thanks to all for the tips. I ended up hammering in a thin putty knife and the pan came off easily. The price I paid for fewer drips!
