1949 Ford F-1 PU
Replaced fuel gauge and sending unit with new Bob Drake units. Note: The gauge cluster and tank are grounded. After replacement of both gauge did not work at all. Removed Drake unit and reinstalled original sending unit - gauge works, however, pulsates/fluctuates between Full and Half Tank reading I'm posting for a friend and he is seeking any assistance or thoughts on this matter. Thank you in advance. LouB. |

With fuel gauges and sending units, it is often easier to troubleshoot before fully installing the sender. Check the connections - both signal and power.

Put an extra ground wire on one of the screws of the sending unit to see if that helps.

If so, this thread will be very helpful, especially post #3. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showt...k+sending+unit |
