Tom.

You don't want any oil on your clutch. If it is slipping it is either worn out or way out of adjustment. It would be best to replace the disk and make proper adjustment.

A slipping clutch is not due to the type of engine oil you are using.
However, engine oil may be dripping on the clutch disc and pressure plate. Remove the inspection cover on the transmission and inspect with a flashlight. |

19Fordy,would there be less chance of a heavier 20w50 conv.motor oil vs 10w30 conv.motor oil getting past the rear main seal into bell housing and on clutch disc/pp. no oil seems to be dripping out of weep hole in bottom of bell housing.btway there is no cotter pin in that hole. possibly plugged? Tom.
