Have the customer pay you via PayPal "friends and family". No fees for either of you.

When you do business with someone,
either you trust them or you don’t.

If you don’t trust them then
don’t do business with them.

I sold one of my enclosed
car hauler trailers that was
in Ohio while I was in Florida
earlier this year.

The Buyer paid for it using
“ friends and family “.

No fee for either of us.

If you buy something and use friends and family to pay for it the buyer pays the fee.

If you pay by cash or by
authorization from your
bank account registered
to PayPal there is no fee
to send money to
“ friends & family “.

The only “ fee “ charged to the
person sending the money is
if they use a credit card that
charges interest.

A guy over on the HAMB wanted
to buy a rollbar from someone
who would only take cash a couple
weeks ago - he asked me to pay
the Seller on his behalf - so he sent
me a PayPal payment - the deal fell
thru - I sent him his money back
thru PayPal.

Both payments were
“ friends and family “.
Neither one of use paid a fee.

All business I conduct is
only with folks I trust.

I have sold a few things on eBay recently and PayPal takes their cut (30 cents plus 2.9%) as soon as the money hits your PayPal account. If your transaction is not through Ebay, I don't know for sure if they would charge the 30 cents, but they probably will.

This is where they got me, " For a small fee, you can also use a debit or credit card."

Nothing to get too excited about on $60 dollars. 2% is $1.20 and 5% is $3.00. Wayne

It's by far the easiest way to deal with foreign currency, and cheaper than many other ways.

The most sensible way to do transactions if you don't have a charge machine..Fees are the cost of doing business and you add them in....

also remember, if doing business overseas, paypal will honor the requests of the buyer

in other words, if the buyer states they didnt recve their item, the money will be returned to the buyer at the sellers expense. Been there, done that and wont be doing it again..........!

If the shipment had Tracking info and shows as "Delivered" what happens then? I would think the seller has some recourse in that case. Any overseas shipment I've made has always had tracking.

4 doors- paypal will refund the buyer-you wont see a dime and no, paypal wont " eat" the loss.

somebody needs to lose.

paypal always errs on the side of the buyer, that's their policy as well as ebays.

do 100 trades and you'll soon figure it out.

I had that happen to me and I proved by way of delivery confirmation that showed the same address that the buyer used and the buyer had to determine what happened. I kept my money.

BTW, PayPal is no different from a credit card in this respect. With a credit card, if the buyer did not receive the goods or service, or considered them mis represented, the credit card company will do the same research that PayPal does. They will credit the charge to the buyer if it is determined the buyer was correct.

In the type of case that Mike sites (proof of delivery), both PayPal and a credit card company would not refund the buyer's money.

not sure if you guys are talking stateside or overseas-overseas can be a can of worms.........

as I said, been through it several times. I wont ship overseas. in the end, not worth my time, the hassle and dealing with 8. an hour employees reading off of a card.

good for you if you have time for that.
