The hinge block goes on top of the horizontal "c" channel bracket. There should be 4 slotted holes on each so you can make adjustments.

Here's a couple of pictures I took when disassembling a 1935, which I assume is pretty much the same setup on a 36. Note that the bolts which attach the bracket on the front have already been removed. Hope this helps some, good luck.

I have a 1935 Ford coupe and the trunk hinges don’t allow the trunk to close all the way? The 35 hinges say 713570 on them. The car had been changed over to a rumble seat and I am putting it back the the original. Any information on installing a 1935 couple trunk lid or ideals would be helpful. Thank you.

Both 1933-34 and 1935-36 Hinge arms will be marked 713570. 1933-34 will have a prefix of 40, 1935-36 of 48. Post a photo of the hinge you have (or email to me at [email protected] and I will repost) and we will try make sure its a 1935-36.

Have you replaced the metal lip at the bottom of the opening. On the original conversion that lip has probably been cut out.
