Hi,
I cleaned up the NOS torque tube race I purchased and it has lots of pitting. My original has wear groves where the bearing cage rides. Which on is better to use or should I find a better one? This is a late 32 tube with no center bearing. |

Don't gamble using a bad race even if it's supposedly NOS. Buy a new race and a new FORD made bearing with grease seal.

It doesn't take much of pit to make noise. It's amazing how loud little pits can be. It's too much work not to do it right the first time.

Just pulled this out of another tube, no groves, not sure if the difference in color is wear?

If possible, install each bearing you have in the tube and measure the ID of each.
Post #13 in thread below shows how to make a sleeve remover out of PVC pipe. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showt...e+bearing+seal |
