My 34 Fordor Deluxe has an elastic rope weaved grab "handle" on the back of front seat and similar material broken short handles attached to the rear C pillars right and left. What are they officially called and where might one seek to find a pair?

The handles as you called them on the C pillars are "assist straps" .You see them from time to time on EBAY.The one behind the seat is I think the term commonly used is "robe rail".

Deluxe fordors, tudors, and Victorias had the C or B pillar "assist loops" (B-56986-D, carried over from the '32 model year) and the deluxe fordors had the "front seat back robe cord" (B-163850-D, also carried over from the '32 model year). The terms in quotes are from the 1933-34 body parts list (catalog).

The early versions of the robe cord were a bit more simplistic than later cars. Last edited by rotorwrench; 02-01-2023 at 11:16 AM. |
