Occasionally when I turned the driver door handle down, it slipped and did not unlatch the door. If I pushed in on it and turned, it would work. That had me worried that I could end up locked out of the car if the passenger door was locked.
A little homework on door handles revealed that the screw at the base of the handle, under the weather seal, had worked loose. I was probably too timid when I put things together after replacing the springs in the latch mechanism. Tightened it up and that little scare is resolved. Maybe I will apply some loc-tite. Just a reminder to all that that little bugger may need to be tightened up once in a while. |
