The 'Ford Service Bulletin for February (page 225) fig. 460 shows where two springs are installed in the cross shaft. My '28 did not have them when I disassembled the shaft. Are they needed or has these springs been phased out?

There needed! It keeps the whole mess tight.....so it's not sloppy.
I found some and had to shorten them to work, try Mc Master-Carr. djm |
