I bought a cab and bed off a fellow ford barn member and am in the process of fixing up the repairs to my standards.
I have the back of the cab all done and am ready to attach it to the subrails but would like to know how it was done originally before I screw something up.

I am assuming the bottom flange of the back, panel gets spot welds to the bottom of the subrails channel. But not sure if the triangular pieces that slip inside the wood channel get welded??

Hope these photos will help.
There is a shim shoved between the triangular bracket and the rail...that's there to stop a squeak.

I went and looked at my cab and there are the three rivets holding the bracket to the subrail and a few spot welds holding it to the cab back.

Mine was only riveted. No welds.
