Default 40 carb question and temp sensors

Have a 40 fordor deluxe and supposedly a 80hp engine but the carb on it says model 92...is this the wrong carb for the 80hp motor. Also have the original temp sensors and wondered if they would still be good or should i get 2 new ones? Thanks for any help!

That carb is for a 60 hp. The correct one would be a 91-99 which is a Holley 94.

The car sat in a barn for 60+yrs. Engine was rebuilt but had 2 temp sensors in it and of course the carb i believe is the wrong one. In my findings i agree it should only have 1 temp sensor. Im trying to upload pic but may gave to email it

Two temp sensors is correct on a '40 flathead. Don't replace either until you are positive it has failed. The commonly available replacements are a crap shoot.

I beg to differ ! Two temp sensors is NOT correct on a 40 ! Only one in the left head.

What Ken said x2.
The threaded hole on the pass side head is for the hot water heater shut off valve.
