hello- when the hub is on the axle, should the writing side -75AS - of the seal be toward the midline of the car or should the non writing side be toward the midline of the car? thank you------i'm not sure it makes any difference as long as the bearing is not greased thru the grease fitting but rather by removal and then by hand

If it has a lip, it should be pointed outboard to keep grease from going toward the diff. This way, as the grease pushes on the lip, it will tighten around the shaft.

Be sure to not tap the bearing seal any further in than needed to get the snap ring in the groove.
If it goes to deep it will rub the bearing, and you'll destroy it trying to remove it. Last edited by Tom Wesenberg; 01-01-2017 at 08:47 PM. |
