Bought a 1935 for cabriolet all done except paint ,.
#1 the coup, conv, roadsters , and cabriolet have very different rear fenders that the sedans and wagons ( much narrower ) found this out after and expensive paint job .. My question to someone with a lotta ford knowledge is ??? Are the 1936 ford rear fenders cpe , roadster and cabriolets the same as the 1935 rear fenders of the 1935 ???????? |

I have an overlay comparison that I saved from Bob Drake's on-line catalog that I had downloaded, but it's saved on my main computer that's unavailable right now. Also, I believe Don Rogers had once poster some type of picture, or instructions on how to ID the differences between coupes/roadsters vs sedans, and '35's vs '36's.

Wouldn't an "expensive paint job" warrant fitting things BEFORE painting?

I wonder how many finished 35’s there are out there with 36 rear fenders, and the owner doesn’t realize it. And vice-versa with 36’s.
While stripping down my 35 coupe noticed an odd repair on the right rear fender, I posted it here on the Ford Barn. When I finally got it completely stripped down I realized what someone had done. They had Grafted on a sedan fender to the remains of a coupe fender. |

Don, thank you for posting these pics that I had mentioned in my earlier post. I'll load these into my cell now, so I have them for future reference.

Ralph, If that's a picture of the repair, it looks like the did a pretty good job.

All leaded in, my guess is it was done in the fifties sometime. Before I stripped it The only sign of it on top was some bubbling through the paint.
