Default another rumble to trunk question :(

I know this topic has been beat to death, sorry for the question, but I need help. In converting my rumble lid to trunk,i bought the hinges and installed them, and the lid lines up great, but it will only open about half way? What am I missing? Does the lip at the top need trimmed? thanks in advance

You NEED to read Steve Plucker's article ,..it's at the top of the page(sticky).
It's in 2 parts, this is the first part...

The rumble lid and a trunk are the same except the hinges and handle location. DON'T cut anything off! There must be something wrong. Like Dudley wrote above, read Steve Plucker's excellent rumble to trunk articles. It will walk you through the conversion.

A couple years ago, I did the conversion, just buying parts and puzzling them together, and I had a slight clearance problem at the handle. Reading the Steve Plucker article just now for the first time, it helped me resolve the problem after all this time of not knowing why I had a clearance problem.

Great Reference! Thanks.
