Restoring a 31 Coupe with rumble seat. My top (shortest) rear spring is broken, rest look good. Just wondering if there would be an issue running without the one leaf ? Would appreciate any opinion. Thanks

The top leaf usually has a chamfered edge to fit the inside of the crossmember. If yours does, and you eliminate it, the next leaf may not sit properly in the crossmember unless you chamfer it.

I took out a couple of the rear leaves from my 30 coupe years ago to soften the ride. It did soften the ride some with no apparent side effects.
