The starter on my model A was weak when I got it about 2 months ago and about a week ago it failed I cleaned the ground connection and the battery connection on the frame and the battery terminals and that didn't fix it so I took it apart, the field windings are not grounding to the case and the armature is good the switch is also good when I hook the starter to the battery charger I can stop the starter with my hand its like the starter has no power but it spins what could be the problem?

Are the brushes in the right holders? Someone had then 90 degrees off about a year ago. I don't think I have a picture to post, but will look.
