Default Radius rod ball

I just installed the transmission in my 31 and used the original style radius rod ball socket set I tightened the nuts to the spacers but it leaves a small gap between the upper and lower caps. Is that correct or should the caps come completely together?

your good the bottom cap will float agains the springs
the small gap you see is normal
