Horn cover from my 31 Town Sedan. Seems there might have been an air pocket when they dipped it.

I have seen this in several original unrestored horns! When they were dipped an air pocket formed and that area remained bare metal.

So, how should I duplicate that effect when re-painting the horn, so I don't lose points! Doug

Here is what I think is amazing......
During the peak of production in 1929 and 1930 they dipped 25,000 wheels, 20,000 fenders etc... etc....EACH DAY!!! That's a lot of dipping..... Also think that they made and Cadmium plated 115,000 lug nuts each day..... Something to think about.. Steve Becker Berts Model A Center |
