Default resitor

I enjoyed the benefit of Henrys 4,1/2 volt Ballast resister this week ,I left the ING on for three hours and the coil only got a little warm ,Started right up , the condenser here is on the Generator .away from the distributor. Ted

Points left in open position? My old Irish boss used to say "It's better to be lucky than smart!".

I could be wrong ,But the coil was warm ,What happens under these circumstances the ballast heats up increasing resistance and reducing voltage to the coil and points .Part of Henrys coil protection .Ted

The condenser on a generator is likely for radio noise suppression, not ignition.
