![]() Hi Guy's, I had original A cam reground to the A-B Grind that the Model A New's did a story about year's ago (By Stipe's ) The Engine the cam was in was a original set up with the solid Ford lifter's...It was very quiet...I latter had the engine rebuilt & got double lock lifter's from the old Ford Obsolete..Installed them & no tappet noise,,, Installed the new reground "A-B" cam & Tick, tick, tick,..Tried to reset the lash, made no difference...Had another reground cam in the box I never used. It had a round tip on the lobe Vs the original pointed tip...Out of Frustration I installed this other cam It turned out to run nice & quiet...Which is what I wanted,,,With this cam I'am running the single lock tappet that I ran on the other cam that made the noise This tappet has the wide base... So what gives ?? Must of been the grind.. Greg out west, |
