I will be leaving Wilkesboro on Wednesday, the 19th, to drive my Model A to Ruidoso. I plan to do about 400 miles each day for 4 days, a total of about 1,600 miles. I have hotel reservations for the way there and the way back. I will try to post a daily log, if I am still conscious at the end of the day.
Several Model A owners are driving their Model A's from the San Jose, California area. They are taking 7 days to go about 1,200 miles. What about you? Are you driving there in your Model A? Synchro will be there but is not taking his car from Australia. I have my car ready. It is anxious to go and is creeping an inch closer to the door each night while I sleep. I have perhaps loaded it up with too much stuff. My concern is the weather. I don't want to get stuck in a tornado or die from heat exhaustion. So far the weather looks acceptable. My air conditioning is a jug of water to wet down my clothes and an open windshield. The other concern is how I am going to drive two cars back to Wilkesboro when I win the raffle for the Tudor.

A is for apple, green as the sky. Step on the gas, for tomorrow I die. Forget the brakes, they really don't work. The clutch always sticks, and starts with a jerk. My car grows red hair, and flies through the air. Driving's a blast, a blast from the past. Last edited by nkaminar; 06-12-2024 at 11:52 AM. |
