Default Brake Linings Too Long?

Ordered molded linings from Snyder’s. There is about 1/16” overhang on one end of the brake show and 1/8”-3/16” on the other. Is this normal? Can I install them like this or trim them down? The woven linings I removed were flush with the edge of the shoes.

If there is no interference with anything when installed I wouldn't worry.

My only concern is the edge folding over from being compressed and it possibly breaking off

What could cause the edge to fold? There shouldn't be anything to push on it.

Well, you at least have more braking surface. Why worry?

Spoke to Snyder’s and they said it shouldn’t be a concern so I installed them as is with the overhang installed on the “trailing” side when going forward.
