Default Motor with Industrial Argentina markings

Hey Folks,

A few years back I picked up a RHD Chassis that was under a 29 Phaeton that supposedly came from Argentina.

Anyways fast forward 6 years and I'm getting into the motor. Other than rust buildup in the cycling era from sitting everything seemed in good shape other than being filthy. So we started pulling it apart and checking things out.

First thing we noticed was the pistons and front pulley are marked Industria Argentina. The valve seats seem to be sunk below the deck surface.

Then we Started by checking rod clearances on #1, #2 and #4 came out spot on at .0015, #3 came in at .002. #3 and #4 had some home made shims. Rod journals measured .030 under at 1.469. Big issue is the #4 rod journal has a bunch of pitting.

After pulling the first piston we found a 4 ring pistons, I'm guessing these are original. Piston 1 thru 3 looked ok, 4 had some rust a stuck bottom ring.

That's as far as we got today, crank will come out next weekend.
