Re-assembling the body for this car now that the body is back on the frame.
Before installing the support under the curved inner panel, the rumble lid opened and closed perfectly - no interference, and the latch mechanism worked very well. Since installing the cast iron curved support ‘arm’ under the curved inner panel, the rumble lid rubs against the curved inner panel as it has been pushed up by the support arm. The curved inner panel is a repro part, but seems to fit very well. Two questions: 1. Can I just loosen the support arm (which also supports the spare tire carrier) and hope that the curved inner panel relaxes a bit ? 2. Another option may be to grind the base of the support art to make it sit lower under the curved inner panel ? I don’t want to leave he support arm off as I think it’s needed to provide support for the spare tire carrier. Thanks for any advice ! Jim |
