If your engine uses cam bearings be sure and check their condition after all that pulling and hammering.

Re: Edelbrock 1107 4 barrel intake for 8ba

Re: Edelbrock 1107 4 barrel intake for 8ba

Here's a 1949-53 8BA and Merc oil fill tube. Notice that the bottom 1 inch of the tube is a smaller dia. than the rest of the tube main body. It is difficult to get really accurate measurements...

Re: Are 1940 and 1941 choke and throttle linkages the same?

I bet it would be possible to modify the 1940 choke and throttle rods so they fit a 1941 car. It may take some cutting, bending and welding.

Re: 40 Sedan Deluxe Speaker install - No studs?

Robert: Don 't make the mistake of drilling any holes in your dash for the speaker. You may consider mounting the speaker somewhere else. Perhaps under the glove box.

Re: Hirsch Auto Auction Sale

Seth makes some good points. I wonder what it was that caused LeBaron-Bonney to shut down?
Did they see the writing on the wall re: car restoration market?

Re: Hirsch Auto Auction Sale

I wonder if it would be possible to import materials from England or Europe?

You can bet that China will be ramping up it's production of these materials once they know there is a worldwide market...

The...

Re: pertronix distributor

Here's an 8BA intake but I just realized the vacuum port below the throttle plates is for the vacuum wipers. Could that be used for the Pertronix instead of for the wipers?

Yup. 8RT is what you need. I used them in a 40 Ford. Had them rebuilt by Skip Haney using the spiral impellors.
