Thanks Mike, good info. Makes sense to me. Pic says it all....the new one is smiling, the old one, like me, not so much. Age takes it's toll ........

Farmer rebuild or good running take out for me. Should have done a "farmer" on my last one, oh no, I just had to go big time. Looking back, a waste of $$$. IMHO

My 1st car was a 50 with the 6 and o/d trans. Used oil bad, so saved up & had it rebuilt.
Mild bore & deck job. Long story short; it would beat most V8s till about 50 mph & bury the peg in 3rd gear...

Even a single carb on a stock engine will run like crap with a paper element in a "Chrome Bonnet". I still use the original 1960 screen mesh element & it works fine.
