Re: Condenser

Update on my previous post #10 from last year. That magneto capacitor shown in my old post is working like a champ! I'll never use an original stock capacitor again, either old used or NOS, except to...

Re: Optima battery holdown?

Steve, you should do a search for old posts on Optima battery mounting. I know there have been some good threads on that subject, with some good idea's on battery mounting.

Re: Optima battery holdown?

Re: Identify wide Crab Dist. Cap

Bob, sorry, my bad. I misunderstood the intent of your post. In retrospect, I'd agree that you nailed it 100% with your identification.

Re: 1938 Ford Standard Coupe

I remember those Warshawsky catalogs very well, even though I wasn't much of a kid in the 70's. I may still even have a copy squirreled away some where, maybe in my antique catalog collection. :D

Re: Identify wide Crab Dist. Cap

Re: off topic OLD fob watch

Me too!! If someone could/would write that out in non script letters, I believe it could be translated into English a bit easier.

Re: 1936 clamshell

If you want to be correct as built by Henry, Terry, Oh has it correct, and all of my original '35 Ford's are just as he described.
Even though all the threaded studs have cotter pin holes (for...

Re: Late 36 distributor rebuild - lower bushing

This was taken from a tech article I just read....

Oilite bearings may be reamed provided a dead- sharp cutting tool is used. However, reaming does destroy porosity more than single point tooling....

Re: Late 36 distributor rebuild - lower bushing

Usually after a new bushing is pressed in place, the ID must be reamed or honed to size.

Re: Dennis Carpenter coil for 37 - 41

Michael, I've heard about this for at least 3 or 4 years now, and based on the number of complaints I've read here, and on other websites, I totally believe they are junk. I've gotta wonder if you...

I remember seeing that early 38 standard coupe at the 2013 meet in Lake Tahoe. It was an amazing condition unrestored car. In the same row of cars were two other 38 standards, one with...
