Done that on my 31 side bowl, had it welded, cleaned it up with a Dermal.

If you do not have a ballast resister install one and or check the coil to see if it has a resister in it or not. JMO

Hi 51 Woodie, I would use it if it checked out on a growler and new brushes,springs,bushing front and rear, new Bendix. Also a spray can or two of electro clean. JMO.

H I I have a 94 carb on a 255 merc stock engine and feel it's running to rich. I'd like to know the proper size jets. I think 54's are in there. Thanks Jim T.

Check your flange that is welded to the 90 deg.ell for flatness and install more hangers. JMHO
